2009-2010 GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
BUILDING GRANTS seeks to support K-12 instruction by funding curricula and programs that help meet the educational needs of students in our district. Funding is determined by the population at each site and may be used for such things as student programs, assemblies, educational supplies or equipment, speakers, and staff training. Since 1998, we have disbursed $238,791.

CLASSROOM GRANTS funds innovative curricula and school projects that enhance educational opportunities for all K-12 students in the Shoreline School District. Grants may serve one or more classrooms, a single school or several schools in partnership. Since 1992, we have disbursed $681,127.

COMMUNITY-WIDE GRANTS support community and school district events, project and programs that benefit the Shoreline School District as a whole. 38 projects have been funded for a total of $31,150.
EDUCATOR ENRICHMENT are provided through scholarships by granting funds to Shoreline PTA Council and funding for the Teacher of the Year and Staff Person of the Year awards. Since 1997, we have disbursed $89,791.
OPPORTUNITY GRANTS provide each of our K-12 schools with an “emergency fund” for school supplies, health checks, field trip fees and other classroom costs for students in need. Students have received a total of $88,360 in assistance.
SECONDARY ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded to 7-12 grade students, who are in a unique financial circumstance, for any program that is an enrichment opportunity such as music, athletics, leadership or workshops. 250 scholarships have been provided totaling $48,287.
SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM provides assistance to 5th through 8th grade students with extended learning opportunities in reading and writing. Also provides tuition assistance to 9th through 12th grade students to gain help in areas of need and enroll in online credit recovery courses. Since 1992, we have disbursed $461,902.
